Violin Size Guide

It is important to know how to select the right violin size when shopping for a new violin. The following steps will help you to choose the perfect violin size in 2 simple steps.

Step 1
Have the violin player fully extend his or her arm. Make sure the arm is perfectly straight.

Step 2
Measure the distance from the player's sternum (the very center of the chest) to the player's palm.

You should now have a measurement that will allow you to determine the violin size that will best meet the violin player's needs using the chart below:
